About Gods Academy

Games, everywhere, for everyone.

Alea jacta est.

The Project

Gods Academy was born from a simple desire: to give board game enthusiasts aged 16 and over a place to pursue their love of tabletop gaming, discovery and good company — online. Here, you roll the dice, place your pieces and share a table, even from thousands of miles away.

Every game comes to life with faithfully modelled 3D components, an interface designed for pleasure, and an inclusive experience that leaves no one behind. AI opponents keep the game going, even when a player steps away.

The Creator

Behind Gods Academy is Loïc Truchot — web developer in Rennes, France, lifelong gamer and AI explorer. This passion project blends what drives him every day: board games, code and the new possibilities offered by artificial intelligence.

Technical showcase

Gods Academy is also a full-scale demonstration of what a developer can build in 2026 with the right tools and AI assistance. Design, code, review, deployment — the entire cycle is carried by a single person, assisted by Claude Code, Qodo and OpenClaw.

Under the hood: Go, NATS, Datastar, SQLite, Three.js, Render, Resend — and a constant focus on best practices. OWASP security, OpenSSF compliance, eco-design, maximum accessibility, internationalisation, GDPR, and a calibrated, responsible use of local AI wherever possible. Everything is documented in our Architecture Decision Records.

Accessibility

The spectrum of disability touches every one of us — one day in our lives or every day. We simply try to meet it with what the modern web offers, so no one gets left behind. Keyboard, screen reader, 2D interface: the entire site works.

Free?

For now, yes. But this project costs roughly €3,000 per year in tools, services and infrastructure — a service that cannot run at a loss forever.

Crowdfunding campaigns, Patreon and reasonable, proportionate subscription plans are being considered, to allow the site to live, grow and keep welcoming new players to the table.
